Who we are, what we do, and where our club is heading.
"Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome." — Arthur Ashe
The Šamorín Athletic Club (ŠTK) was founded on June 1, 1914, under its original Hungarian name Somorjai Testgyakorlók Köre. Among the founders were Pschierer József, Halmi Béla, Bargár Richárd, Huszágh János, and Balheim Károly. The club was established at the sports grounds in the Pomlé area — the same location where our courts stand today. [1]
In the 1930s, tennis became the most popular sport in the city. We continue this tradition today — TK ŠTK Šamorín is home to nearly 60 registered players and regularly participates in team competitions under the Slovak Tennis Association. [2]
We also think about the future — we invest in clay court maintenance, develop training programs for children and adults, and build a community where everyone is welcome on the courts regardless of age or skill level.
