About the club

Who we are, what we do, and where our club is heading.

A club with tradition since 1914

"Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome." — Arthur Ashe

The Šamorín Athletic Club (ŠTK) was founded on June 1, 1914, under its original Hungarian name Somorjai Testgyakorlók Köre. Among the founders were Pschierer József, Halmi Béla, Bargár Richárd, Huszágh János, and Balheim Károly. The club was established at the sports grounds in the Pomlé area — the same location where our courts stand today. [1]

In the 1930s, tennis became the most popular sport in the city. We continue this tradition today — TK ŠTK Šamorín is home to nearly 60 registered players and regularly participates in team competitions under the Slovak Tennis Association. [2]

We also think about the future — we invest in clay court maintenance, develop training programs for children and adults, and build a community where everyone is welcome on the courts regardless of age or skill level.

Tennis preparation

Children from age 5 can sign up for training. We organize annual tennis preparation programs for the youngest players.

Competitive tennis

TK ŠTK Šamorín regularly participates in team competitions, and several successful players grew up and started their careers in our club.

Recreational tennis

Tennis isn't just for the "young" or players with a "registration card." Everyone is welcome on our courts — come and play.

Tournaments and events

Beyond STA tournaments, we also focus on fun, annual volunteer days, community events, and training camps.

Activities and events

Organization of tournaments, training camps, and various events. Beyond STA tournaments and our players' sports preparation, we also focus on fun, annual volunteer days, recreational competitions, as well as club and even corporate events.

STA tournaments

We regularly organize tournaments under the Slovak Tennis Association — team competitions, ranked tournaments, and youth events.

Training camps

During summer holidays and free days, we organize tennis camps for children and adults with intensive training programs.

Recreational competitions

Informal tournaments and matches for everyone — regardless of age or skill level. Doubles, mixed doubles, and friendly matches between clubs.

Club and corporate events

We organize club events, celebrations, and corporate team-building activities right on our clay courts. The ideal combination of sport and fun.

Volunteer days and facility maintenance

Annual community volunteer days are a tradition of our club — members together care for the courts, grounds, and common areas before and during the season.
